Golf Education at Savannah Legacy Academy
Building Character, Confidence, and Opportunity Through the Game of Golf

Why We Teach Golf
Golf is a game of life. It challenges the mind, tests emotional control, and rewards persistence—qualities that mirror the journey of education. By teaching golf from an early age, we help students:
● Develop emotional regulation and self-confidence
● Cultivate leadership and decision-making skills
● Learn respect for rules, others, and themselves
● Gain access to scholarship and career opportunities
● Engage in a lifelong sport that promotes physical wellness
Golf also opens doors for students who may not otherwise be exposed to the sport, helping level the playing field in a traditionally exclusive game.
Partnership with First Tee – Savannah
We proudly partner with First Tee – Savannah, a nationally recognized youth development organization, to provide structured golf and life skills instruction. Through First Tee’s core values and activity-based lessons, our students learn to navigate challenges with honesty, perseverance, and confidence—on the course and in the classroom.
In-Class Golf Courses
To deepen students’ understanding of the game and its broader applications, Savannah Legacy Academy offers unique golf-based academic courses such as: :
● Golf Physics: Students explore the science behind the swing, including concepts in force, motion, angles, and energy transfer. This course bridges physical science with athletic application.
● Golf Operations: This course introduces students to the business side of golf—from managing a course to running tournaments and understanding golf industry careers.
● Golf Design: Combining creativity and technical skills, students study course architecture, landscaping, environmental planning, and digital design to imagine and model their own golf holes or courses.
These classes not only make learning engaging and relevant but also expose students to STEM and business pathways connected to the sport.
Beyond the Classroom: On-Course Learning
Our students apply what they
learn in the classroom through regular on-course experiences at local golf facilities. These sessions include:

● Swing practice and technique development
● Course strategy and etiquette
● Short game and putting drills
● Team challenges and character-building activities
These opportunities help students gain real-world experience while reinforcing academic lessons and life skills.
A Gateway to Scholarships and Careers
By starting golf instruction early, our students are positioned for competitive advantage in high school, college, and beyond. Whether aiming for scholarships, internships in the golf industry, or simply building confidence through sport, every swing is a step toward a stronger future.
At Savannah Legacy Academy, we don’t just teach golf. We use golf to teach life.
